RALEIGH, N.C., and KILIFI, Kenya, 20 October 2026. Cyberiad Labs and Somo Tech Literacy Centre announced a partnership giving our teachers and learners free places in Cyberiad Labs classes. It starts with 250 places in the class opening on Monday 2 November 2026, and continues in future classes. Introduction to AI and LLMs is online, part-time and four weeks long.
## Teachers bring AI into every classroom
Somo Tech Literacy Centre was founded in 2024 by Chrisphine Okoth Ogallo, a mathematics and geography teacher. When asked to teach computer science and coding in rural Kilifi schools with very few computers, his first answer was to train the teachers.
The partnership supports teachers in Kilifi and Homa Bay to understand how AI works, recognise where it goes wrong and use it responsibly in classrooms.
## Practical learning, even with limited connectivity
Learners need a phone or computer. On the first day, each learner installs a small free AI model that runs on their own device. Teachers can keep using it to prepare lessons and check exercises when the connection drops. From the first week, learners practise checking its answers before using them.
## AI should support teachers
“AI should not replace teachers. It should support them, take some of the workload off them, and give them more time for what matters most: teaching, guiding and encouraging their learners,” said Chrisphine Okoth Ogallo, founder and CEO of Somo Tech Literacy Centre.
“Nobody passes on what they learn to more people than a teacher,” said Julien Barbier, co-founder of Cyberiad Labs.
## Joining the course
The first class starts on 2 November 2026. Somo Tech Literacy Centre teachers and learners register through a link Cyberiad Labs sends them. These partnership places are additional to the public seats, which are already taken.
